Welcome to OLDINKHISTORY IS NEVER MORE FASCINATING THAN WHEN IT'S READ FROM THE DAY IT WAS FIRST REPORTED.

How Ironic, as a student at Royalview Elementary, Willowick Jr, and
Eastlake North, I hated History It was Dull and BORING  Learning
from a "NEW Watered Down VERSION" of  History, printed  months
before I entered the respective grade

What a dumb way to learn history

If only I had an ACTUAL COMPLETE NEWSPAPER THAT WAS

PRINTED Shortly after the event  in my hands

My grades would not have been  D`s

I would be teaching the class

The collection started  in 1994 with George
Washingtons Resignation as commander and Chief of the
Army This Paper is the Complete speech made by George
 Washington Signed in type
Then , I found a VERY EARLY Report of the Battle of Bull Run
From there, it went into More Historical EVENTS

I soon learned, For a stellar Collection it has to be
Newspapers of events from where it happened
INCREDIBLE COMPLETE NEWSPAPERS OF Historic events that
had HAPPENED THE  SAME WEEK or in some cases.. JUST hours
After .one Example.. Probably, one of the best in the
Country,,,.my JFK collection,. Boston, Washington &
Dallas  Papers ALL  Same day reports...
This is what the hobby is all about !!!!!!!

People thought I was nuts ( more than usual ) collecting papers  that is a STUPID
thing to collect , OR  my favorite, I have yesterdays paper I will give it to you,
are only a few of the comments that I have heard
BUT after 15 yrs and over 500 papers later ....

THE BIG  interested now is   Death Issues. Presidential
Papers from the Capital (Inauguration) and The 56 signers of
the Declaration. (have 39 out of 56)

I have also discovered that newspapers were born around 1515,
from 1455-1515  (Johannes Gutenberg) the only things
 that were printed were Bibles
So NOW I had to have at least 1 Printed item from
every decade since the 1450`s  So I collected Bible Leaves
The collection has EVERY DECADE REPRESENTED from 1470
... Still looking for 1450`s the 1460`s

The site was originally the  BRAIN CHILD  OF My Cousin PAUL Z
Who, Lives about 50 miles South from me, and wanted to see
the collection of  HISTORIC NEWSPAPERS
BUT time and Distance prevented it
Hence forth OLDINK was born in 2002

Now OLDINK has expanded to an education site meant to help

 students in their studies

Remember, I  Hated History in School

But now I am a History Nut

These  papers on this Site ARE NOT COPIES THEY ARE NOT REPRODUCTIONS

THEY ARE Complete Newspapers

AGE ....From 530 YEARS OLD TO 6 months old

They are The REAL DEAL .... Enjoy

Best Wishes Dave
